Published

on

The iPhone 5 is closing in on its third major iOS system update. The iPhone 5 iOS 9 release is confirmed for the fall though Apple hasn’t provided any specific details in the run up to September. Thanks to a mountain of evidence, we know that the iOS 9 release date is getting closer and today we want to help prepare iPhone 5 users for its arrival.

In June, Apple hosted its annual WWDC developer conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. There, Tim Cook and company took the curtain down and introduced several new products including a brand new iOS 9 operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

On stage, the company detailed key iOS 9 features, the arrival of an iOS 9 beta, and the iOS 9 release date. Apple’s iOS 9 release date is confirmed for the fall though the company has failed to elaborate on a specific date leaving iOS users in the dark as we push through summer.

The iOS 9 release is confirmed for all iOS 8 powered devices, a list that includes the aging iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 iOS 9 update is shaping up to be a key release for the former flagship and many iPhone 5 users have their eyes on Apple’s incoming system upgrade.

While nothing is confirmed, rumors suggest that these features will be coming soon. The iOS 9 release date hasn’t been outed but we have a pretty good idea about what to expect from Apple.

With that and iPhone 5 users in mind, we want to take an early look at a few things we expect from the iPhone 5 iOS 9 release and release date. Keep these in mind as we push into September.

When We'll Get iPhone 5 iOS 9 Release Details

When We'll Get iPhone 5 iOS 9 Release Details

We expect the iPhone 5 iOS 9 update to be revealed, in full, on September 9th.

That date comes from a BuzzFeed report that suggests that Apple will use the date to announce its brand new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. All signs are pointing to an arrival in September and there's no reason to believe that Apple won't host an event next month.

We expect the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to share the spotlight with several other products including iOS 9. Apple always details iOS updates on stage during iPhone launch events and we expect the company to follow standard protocol.

It's here that we'll probably hear about which features the iPhone 5 will get (it probably won't get the full set) and when the iPhone 5 iOS 9 release date will be.

We expect to host a live stream of the event so if you're at all interested in this system upgrade, you should tune in and follow the events as they unfold. As for the iOS 9 release date itself...
