iPhone 6 Display Rumors
iPhone 6 leaks show two distinct iPhone 6 models with larger screens. We expect to see a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and a 5.5-inch iPhone 6.
Leaks for the largest iPhone 6 display size are finally coming out, suggesting a lag in production. The lack of significant iPhone 6 5.5-inch leaks led many to believe it is not coming and while we are not guaranteed this huge iPhone 6, it still is likely.
The iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s feature a 4-inch Retina display, the first jump in screen size Apple offered. For the new iPhones we expect an even bigger jump and one that adds width and height to the iPhone display.
With a larger iPhone 6 display rumors point to a higher iPhone 6 resolution. The iPhone 5s uses an 1136 x 640 resolution and so far leaks point to two possible iPhone 6 resolutions.
9to5Mac shared a 1,704 x 960 resolution for both iPhone 6 models last in May, and recent reports suggest it could be as high as 1,472 x 828 or an eye-popping 2,208 x 1,242. The highest resolution seems unlikely, but we won't know anything exactly until Apple announces it.
The most promising leak is a microscopic look at an alleged iPhone 6 display that shows the amount of pixels equal to a 1,704 x 960 resolution. This part is allegedly for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6.
In addition to larger displays and higher resolutions we could see Sapphire display covers on the iPhone 6. This is a very hard material that should resist scratches and may also help the iPhone 6 survive drops better than phones with chemically strengthened glass.
