iPhone 6s Release Date vs. Note 5 Release Date

If you're not interested in the iPhone 6/iPhone 6 Plus or Galaxy Note 4, we understand. iPhone 6s and Galaxy Note 5 rumors paint the rumored phones as worthy successors to last year's models and there's reason to be excited about the future. Thing is, these phones won't be hitting shelves anytime soon.

According to a Bloomberg report from June, the iPhone 6s just hit the early stages of production with output expected to ramp up later on this month. This means that the iPhone 6s should arrive in 2015 but it means that it probably won't arrive any sooner than the iOS 9 release in the fall.

For the uneducated, the iPhone release window usually takes place between September-October, we wouldn't expect anything different from the iPhone 6s release date. It's also worth pointing out that supply shortages might lead to delays.

The same report says that while "final assembly is expected to be smooth because the design of the new iPhones is similar to the current model" the "timing and production volume of Force Touch-enabled phones could be impacted by the supply and yield of the displays." In other words, be prepared to pre-order or wait.

The Galaxy Note 5 release information is a little more vague though like Apple, Samsung always uses a very specific launch window and with IFA 2015 set for September 4th, there's a good chance that we'll see it arrive in the same month as the iPhone 6s.

Some Galaxy Note 5 rumors have pointed to an early arrival in August and that's the earliest we'll see the Galaxy Note 5 hit shelves.

Back in June, a Samsung executive confirmed company plans to release its Samsung Pay platform in September. Analysts believe that Samsung Pay, an Apple Pay competitor, will be accompanied by the Galaxy Note 5.

Look for release date rumors for both phones to heat up once we get closer to the fall. Right now, expect them both to come in September.
