iPhone Xs Max vs Galaxy Note 9: Design

Design-wise these are two similar yet very different phones. There are a few important things we want to mention. Things that will be important to you as a buyer, day in and day out.

Both of these phones have huge screens, a premium metal body, and glass covering the front and the back. They're both IP68 dust and water-resistant, and they both have dual cameras. So what's so different about the design?

Well, the iPhone Xs Max has a big notch in the screen, that's the biggest difference. It's also missing a fingerprint scanner and instead relies on the cameras and sensors in that notch to unlock when you look at it. Just like the iPhone X from 2018. The iPhone doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack either, but it does support wireless charging.

The iPhone Xs Max comes with 64GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 comes with 128GB or 512GB but has a microSD slot so you can add more yourself.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 doesn't have a notch and has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It's high up, hard to reach, but works great when you use it. You'll also get faster wireless charging, a bigger battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the S-Pen stylus for content creation.

iPhone's have amazing apps that allow for some incredible things, but so does the S-Pen stylus that is inside the Note 9. This one can go either direction. We love our headphone jack though.
