Lamborghini: To Russia With Android Bling

Published

on

It looks like Italian auto house Lamborghini will be turning to the old Kremlin state to debut a new line of luxury Android products, including three smartphones and a tablet. Unfortunately, though, despite the premium price points due to more luxurious metals, Lamborghini’s Android debuts do not have cutting edge specs.

The tablet, dubbed the Lamborghini L2800, will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a 9.7-inch display and features a sapphire crystal display. The design of the slate looks very reminiscent of Dell’s Alienware notebooks with angled corners and geeky rear speakers. The tablet has a 5-megapixel rear camera, front-facing camera, 4 GB internal storage, 512 MB RAM, micro SDHC card slot, and dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor. There are reports that an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is planned for this tablet. The tablet is slated to retail for $2,290 in Russia.

According to Ubergizmo, the Lamborhini TL700 luxury Android smartphone features a 3.7-inch WVGA display with sapphire crystal. It has a similar 5-megapixel rear camera and 4 GB internal storage as the L2800 tablet. The front-facing camera on the TL700 is only VGA resolution compared to the 2-megapixel resolution on the slate. Like the tablet, a Qualcomm applications processor will be powering the smartphone. The casing of this device will be made out of gold and will feature crocodile skin accents as well. The device will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will retail for $2,750.

Both devices are expected to be released in the August timeline in Russia with no word of an international release at this time.
