LG G7 vs Pixel 3 XL: Specs

Another important part of any buyers decision is the specs of a phone. Whether or not it's fast, capable, and powerful. Being a high-end flagship device, these are likely to of the best phones of 2018.

And while the Pixel 3 isn't official yet, we already know what Google will offer. That's because they only have a few options in terms of specs, features, and other aspects of a smartphone. We could see a few surprises, but that's doubtful. Here's what you'll get from the LG G7 ThinQ, and what you'll likely get if you wait for the Pixel 3 XL.

LG G7 Specs

  • 6.1-inch 3120 x 1440 Quad-HD Full-Vision LCD Display
  • 8-Core Snapdragon 845 Processor with 4GB of RAM (same as Galaxy S9)
  • 64GB storage with microSD expansion
  • Android 8.0 Oreo with LG UI and AI 2.0
  • 16-Megapixel f/1.6 main camera, 16 MP f/1.9 wide-angle lens
  • 8-Megapixel front selfie camera
  • Hi-Fi Quad DAC, Boombox Speaker, Google Assistant button, FM Radio
  • 3,000 mAh battery with fast and wireless charging
  • IP68 Water & dust resistant, USB Type-C
  • Platinum Gray, Black, Blue, and Rasberry Rose Gold color options

Pixel 3 XL Specs (Speculation)

  • 6-inch 2880 x 1440 Quad-HD OLED Display (2:1 aspect ratio)
  • Snapdragon 845 Processor with 4-6GB of RAM
  • 64/128GB storage options, no micro-SD slot
  • Android 9.0 P
  • 12.2 Megapixel Rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and OIS (Maybe dual cameras)
  • 8MP front-facing camera
  • Dual Front-Facing Stereo Speakers
  • 3,600 mAh battery with Quick Charging
  • IP68 Dust & Water-Resistance
  • Google Assistant, Google Lens, more
  • USB Type-C port, in-display fingerprint scanner
  • No 3.5mm headphone jack, no wireless charging

Based on previous years the Pixel 3 XL will be a little better than phones from earlier in the year. We're expecting something very similar to what's detailed above. One thing to keep in mind is Google's old Pixel 2 can already do more with 1 camera than most phones do with two. So Google might not even need a secondary lens to compete with the LG G7. If they do add a second camera system to the back, the phone could take even better photos.

We're also expecting Google's Pixel 3 XL to have more RAM, extra storage, a higher water-resistance rating and run the new Android P software.

Basically, if you want wireless charging and expandable storage, get the LG G7 and don't wait for Google's next phone. We seriously doubt it'll have either.
