LG G7 vs Pixel 3 XL: Cameras

Like we've seen for several years now, the LG G7 has three cameras. Two on the back and one front-facing camera. However, they offer a different feature than everyone else. Where Samsung and Apple are offering 2x zoom or portrait-mode photography, LG offers a wide-angle lens. Giving you the ability to capture more content in each photo. It's something no other smartphone has.

You'll enjoy two capable 16MP cameras on the LG G7 ThinQ. Along with an 8MP front-facing camera. LG has a fast f/1.6 aperture lens, then a second wide angle shooter. They also offer portrait photography on both the front and the back of the phone. Just like the iPhone X.

However, Google's older Pixel 2 XL from 2017 can do all of those things and it does it with a single 12MP camera. You can't take wide-angle shots, but it does everything else most high-end cameras do. In fact, Google's Pixel 2 XL with a single camera received a higher review from independent tests than any other smartphone.

We don't know what Google has planned for 2018 but expect another solid camera experience. If the camera is extremely important to you, wait for Google's Pixel 3 XL.
