macOS Sonoma 14.1 Release Imminent

Published

on

Apple’s macOS Sonoma 14.1 update for Mac should arrive tomorrow alongside iOS 17.1 for iPhone.

macOS Sonoma 14.1 is the next version of macOS Sonoma and the milestone upgrade will bring enhancements, bug fixes, and security patches to compatible Mac models.

Last week, Apple pushed the macOS Sonoma 14.1 Release Candidate, RC, to beta testers. The Release Candidate is the final version of the beta which means the public release is imminent.

The company hasn’t confirmed the macOS Sonoma 14.1 release date or release time, but a French regulatory group has shed light on the situation.

According to French regulatory group ANFR, Apple’s iOS 17.1 update will land by October 24th. The group says “Apple has committed to deploying an update in France” and the update, which will deliver a tweak to lower radiation levels on the iPhone 12, will “be available to all users no later than October 24.”

Now that the morning of October 23rd has come and gone, we expect Apple to push iOS 17.1 to iPhone users on October 24th. And given that Apple typically pushes its software updates all at once, we expect macOS Sonoma 14.1 to land tomorrow as well.

Apple generally releases new software around 10AM Pacific. This is when you can expect Apple to push macOS Sonoma 14.1, iOS 17.1 for iPhone, and iPadOS 17.1 for iPad.

macOS Sonoma 14.1 isn’t a huge update for Mac, but it brings upgrades to Apple Music and System Settings. It also has a couple of bug fixes on board.

We expect Apple to release additional macOS Sonoma software later this year, so keep an eye out for a macOS Sonoma 14.2 beta later on this month.
