This is what you need to know about the Need for Speed Payback release date, story, gameplay, and features. If you’ve passed on Need for Speed games, Payback looks like it is ready to pull you back into the fold with a Fast and Furious style story.

First announced in early June, EA shared more about the new Need for Speed game at EA Play.

The 2017 Need for Speed game includes a single-player campaign that has you seeking revenge and building out an impressive set of cars that you upgrade as you race and go head to head against racers, the mob, casinos and yes — the cops.

Need for Speed Payback Release Date

The Need for Speed Payback release date is November 10th, but there are two early release dates that you need to know about if you are excited to play the game.

The Need or Speed Payback Deluxe Edition includes three days of early access to the game. This is only available if you buy the special edition of the game.

Users who subscribe to EA Access or Origin Access can play on November 2nd with a Play First Trial. This option is only available on the Xbox One and on PC.

Need for Speed Payback Story

In the Need for Speed Payback story, you take control of Tyler Morgan as he struggles to claw back from a double cross. Pull yourself back into the racing scene by building out a new crew and winning the hardest race you’ll ever face.

Your main enemy is “The House” which controls casinos, criminals and the cops in this city. Fortune Valley is an open world for you to explore, and you’ll find abandoned cars that you can upgrade and make your own.

  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport

There will definitely be many more Need for Speed Payback cars and many more ways you can customize them.

Need for Speed Payback Gameplay

After you choose your Need for Speed Payback car style, you will find new challenges as you play though the game. You’ll choose where you want to go and how you want to race.

  • Race through Silver Rock City
  • Offroad in the Liberty Desert
  • Drift up Mount Providence
  • Survive Silver Canyon

No matter your favorite style, there is something in Need for Speed Payback that will allow you to live that out.

Need for Speed Payback Videos

We’re seeing new Need for Speed Payback videos appear out of EA Play including the following Need for Speed Payback gameplay trailer.

In this new video, we get to see how you will play through the world in the 2017 Need for Speed game. You’ve seen a little in the preview, but this is new once you get past the intro.

You’ll need to take out cars and catch up to a truck in this new mission. You get to see actual gameplay, though another cutscene quickly interrupts.

While you need to take down other cars, you don’t have weapons, so you’ll have to ram into them repeatedly. It’s very Fast & Furious in that aspect. Even the semi truck hijack looks like something right out of the Fast & Furious franchise. You play as three characters, and we see some of that in the trailer.
