New Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Release Date Confirmed

A new Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date has been confirmed today and while it’s not for the elusive Verizon Galaxy Note Edge, it’s for a variant that’s set to land in one of the world’s largest smartphone markets.

Back in September, Samsung took to the stage to announce a number of new products. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 took most of the spotlight but Samsung also announced its new Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, a device that shares many of the Galaxy Note 4′s features but comes with a unique curved display that curves over one of the sides.

The new Galaxy Note Edge is a concept phone and it’s one that should be intriguing to those that are looking to upgrade to a high-end smartphone. The Galaxy Note Edge specs include a Quad HD resolution display, a 2.7 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 with 3GB of RAM, Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung TouchWiz, 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, massive battery, and a thin 8.3mm frame. It also comes with an S Pen stylus like all Galaxy Note variants.

At the event, Samsung did not outline any specific Galaxy Note Edge release dates though over the past two months, we’ve started to see relevant information creep to the surface. Today, a key Galaxy Note Edge release date has been confirmed with the United Kingdom, a key battleground for smartphone manufacturers.

Samsung’s told UK publication The Inquirer that it, and its retailer partners, will start taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note Edge starting tomorrow. Carphone Warehouse will be one of the retailers taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note Edge and it joins several others, including Clove UK, in taking early orders for one of the most unique smartphones on the market. These pre-orders come ahead of a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release date on November 28th.

That date appears to be locked down though the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge price in the United Kingdom remains elusive. The Galaxy Note Edge is expected to fetch a price around that’s somewhere in the vicinity of £800 though Samsung, and its retailer partners, have yet to commit to a specific and concrete price for the device. Galaxy Note Edge price details should emerge tomorrow and those pre-ordering will want to remain alert as we push further into the release process.

The UK is just one of several European nations set to stock the Galaxy Note Edge. Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, France, Nordic countries, Austria and Portugal should all be getting the Galaxy Note Edge at some point in the future as well.

It appears that Denmark will get the Galaxy Note Edge on December 12th, or, several weeks after the U.S. Galaxy Note Edge release. It’s not clear if these other countries will cluster around Denmark’s date or if they will get the device at a later date. As expected, the Galaxy Note Edge price will be in and around €899, a steep price for consumers in Europe. In the U.S., the Galaxy Note Edge will cost $399 on-contract and more than $800 off-contract.

Germany’s Galaxy Note Edge will be a little bit different from the rest. Samsung Germany will release a Galaxy Note Edge Premium Edition that includes a flip wallet, cleaner for the display, three year warranty, a manual that outlines tips and tricks, and a 64GB microSD card. The first 500 buyers will also get free dinner and a tour of Samsung’s headquarters in Schwalbach.

Tomorrow, the U.S. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge release continues with T-Mobile and Sprint with both carriers are set to join AT&T as Galaxy Note Edge service providers.

U.S. Cellular and Verizon still haven’t announced any specific details. Earlier, we saw the U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note Edge cruise through the FCC, a sign that an announcement should be close but thus far, we haven’t heard anything about a release date or a price. The Verizon Galaxy Note Edge is in worse shape. It has cleared the GCF but it hasn’t cleared the FCC. We should see new details emerge soon as Samsung works to get its curved Galaxy Note Edge out to consumers all over the world.
