Apple includes both of these in the iPhone 8 and iPhone X boxes, but they still count as official accessories, especially since you will need to buy at least one replacement Lightning to 3.5mm dongle during two years with your iPhone. Both of these devices allow you to plug in directly to the iPhone and listen to music or make calls. You cannot use the included headphones with your MacBook Pro or MacBook since they only support a 3.5mm headphone. That's probably one of the reasons Apple includes the headphone adapter in there. They know many of you will need to use a standard 3.5mm headphone set. A replacement Lightning to 3.5mm adapter is $9 at Apple. | |||||||||||
