Another major difference between these two phones that buyers will want to consider is the camera. OnePlus has never been able to compete with the big boys in the camera department, but they claim that will all change with the OnePlus 5. In fact, they think their camera beats Samsung and Apple's iPhone 7 Plus. 

The OnePlus 5 has three cameras. On the back, are two cameras that are tuned to perfection. One is a 20 megapixel lens that will allow owners to zoom in with stunning clarity and take portrait photos with beautiful blur effects similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. There's also an advanced pro mode the company is really excited about. 

However, the main camera is a 16 megapixel lens with the same fast f/1.7 aperture as the Galaxy S8. It uses all of the pixels to focus extremely fast, and it's 40% faster than the OnePlus 3T and should be comparable to the Galaxy S8. We'll have to test the camera and its software to know for sure, but so far it looks very promising. The front selfie camera is 16 megapixels too for great low-light photos, wide-angle and 1080p video recording or Snapchats. 

Samsung's camera is a single 12 DualPixel lens that's tried, trusted and works great. You get a perfect shot every time, and it has the same fast autofocus and f/1.7 aperture. This means the shutter is fast yet has a big sensor to capture tons of light during poorly lit photography sessions or indoors. The Galaxy S8 has one of the best smartphone cameras on the planet and will be hard to beat. Again, the OnePlus 5 looks promising, but we'll reserve judgment until we review it ourselves. 

Just know the OnePlus 5 delivers a vastly improved camera experience that should be on par with the best phones on the market, and there are three of them on the phone.
