OnePlus 5T vs OnePlus 5: Cameras

The screen is the biggest difference between the original OP5 and the new 5T. However, another area of improvement comes with the cameras. Well, depending on how you look at it.

OnePlus delivers a nice dual camera setup that's similar to the iPhone 8 Plus. Featuring one impressive lens, then a secondary lens for portrait photography and zooming in closer on subjects. They don't have the best cameras on the market, but they're not bad either.

However, the new OnePlus 5T is making the jump to the high-end but is losing the telephoto feature in the process.

From what we understand the rear cameras include a 16 Megapixel f/1.7 aperture les with a huge sensor. Then, the secondary camera is a 20MP f/1.7 aperture lens too, instead of a slow f/2.4 or something else. This way both cameras can take great photos. OnePlus combines the two for excellent low light performance, faster auto-focus, and smooth blur effects on Portrait mode photography.

The idea here is they've ditched the zoom feature in favor of a better overall camera experience. Something most users will likely agree with. Once we get it in our hands, we'll give it a try.
