4 Reasons to Wait for the Galaxy Z Flip & 3 Reasons Not to

Don't Wait If You Need a Durable Phone

This should go without saying, but don't wait for (or buy) the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip if you're clumsy or need a durable phone. All phones are pretty fragile these days with huge screens and glass covering the front AND the back, but this will be more fragile than most. 

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is a foldable phone with brand new smartphone display technology inside. It won't be able to handle life's daily hazards quite as well as other phones. 

Now, on the flip side, this is the first phone ever released with foldable and flexible glass, which is a big deal. That potentially means the folding screen will be way stronger than anything else we've seen. Still, we don't know what to expect, nor how strong that folding glass actually is. Motorola's new RAZR has some potential problems with dust and dirt getting under the screen, and we're hoping the Flip solved that issue. 

Until we know more information about the durability of this thing, I'd recommend waiting if you're someone that breaks phones often or works in an area where it could get bumped around or dropped. Then again, if it's always shut that screen won't break if you drop your phone -- while a typical device would shatter from the fall. 

Trade-offs, I guess.
