Don't Wait for a Display Upgrade

We've been hoping to see a 2020 MacBook Pro with Mini LED display technology and a 14-inch MacBook Pro this year, but those may not happen.

Apple already announced the 2020 MacBook Pro 13 and now the latest report suggests that Apple will push Mini LED displays for the 16-inch MacBook Pro and 14-inch MacBook Pro to 2021

With that in mind, you can still wait for these upgrades, but keep in mind that you may need to wait until at least the second quarter of 2021. That means potentially waiting almost a full year. The latest report is that Apple pushed the MacBook Pro 14 to 2021. This is from a reliable source, but it is still early, so you may want to hold off if you are hoping for one this year.

The mini LED technology can deliver a wide color gamut, better contrast ratios, HDR and local dimming. It may also allow for thinner display panels and better power efficiency.

Ming-Chi Kou mentions a 14.1-inch MacBook Pro with mini-LED display technology. What's not clear in the report is if this larger screen will come to a 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro at the same time, or if one will land first.
