The current Mac Pro options did not add new connectivity options from the 2013 model. That's a major issue if you need newer connectivity options to fast storage, upgraded displays and USB C accessories. 

There are no USB C connections or ThunderBolt 3 support on the current Mac Pro. This is something that you can expect to change with the new Mac Pro as Apple makes the change to an upgradeable Mac Pro.
