Samsung’s hardware refresh to the original Vibrant, a Galaxy S smartphone, will be released on February 9th according to TmoNews‘s sources. The Android 2.2 Vibrant 4G smartphone with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI adds a front-facing camera for video calls and support for T-Mobile USA’s evolving 4G network.
Samsung has been criticized for the launch of the Vibrant 4G by smartphone enthusiasts who criticize the company for withholding the Android 2.2 Froyo software update from the original Vibrant in favor of pushing the Vibrant 4G out the door.
