Verizon Galaxy Nexus Price Drops

Ahead of its upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Verizon has dropped the Samsung Galaxy Nexus price down to a mere $99.99 on-contract.

This price is the lowest that Verizon has ever dropped the price and it should be a tempting offer to those interested in getting one of the carrier’s best 4G LTE Android smartphones.

The device originally launched on Verizon’s 4G LTE network back in December for $299.99 on-contract, so the price of the Galaxy Nexus has certainly come a long way since launch.

This discount only appears to be available online as the carrier is touting a $50 online discount. Those trying to find it in-stores will likely be greeted with the similar $150 on-contract price that Verizon has had attached to it for quite some time.

The Galaxy Nexus price has dropped at Verizon.

The price drop comes shortly after the device became overshadowed a bit by the Samsung Galaxy S III which arrived on Verizon earlier this month. The Galaxy Nexus though still holds some nice features, features that even trump the Galaxy S III. Those include a stock version of Android 4.0, it doesn’t have TouchWiz over the top and it also comes with Nexus branding.

That Nexus branding looks like it will, despite the phone’s past troubles, make the Verizon Galaxy Nexus one of the first device’s to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google’s latest and greatest mobile software.

Google has said that it will be among the first to the upgrade and hopefully, Verizon is able to keep that promise from ringing hollow.

It took Verizon five months to bestow the first bug fix update on the Galaxy Nexus so it’s unclear if it will take that long to get it upgraded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, an update that should make the Galaxy Nexus, especially at this price,  a lot more desirable.

Don’t bother, the phone isn’t worth the aggravation if it was free.
