After a day of exclusive sales at Apple, you can now buy AirPods 2 at Amazon, Best Buy & B&H Photo to name a few of these places. You can do in store pickup at Apple and at some Best Buy locations.

The good news is that no one is completely sold out of AirPods 2 yet, but at most stores the deliver dates are pushed back to early April. It’s important to act now if you want to lock in an early delivery. Typically we see Apple sell out of hot products and it was hard to find the AirPods in stock for a long time after the initial release.

The AirPods 2 price starts at $159 for the base model and $199 for AirPods 2 with wireless charging. You can also buy the wireless charging case for the original AirPods for $79.

You can buy AirPods 2 online at the Apple website or through the Apple Store app, at Best Buy, Amazon, B&H Photo and other retailers. Here’s the current breakdown of where you can find AirPods 2 in stock.

• Apple – Store Pickup Today – Delivery by April 8th with Wireless Charging Case/ April 2nd with normal Charging case.
• Best Buy – Delivery by April 5th with Wireless Charging Case/ March 29th with normal Charging case.
• Amazon – Delivery by April 25th with Wireless Charging Case/ March 29th with normal Charging case.
• B&H Photo  – Available to order, but no shipping estimate.

You can pick up AirPods 2 at Apple Stores now, with good overall availability. This is your best option. You should order for in store pickup and reserve a pair. Do not just go into a store hoping they have some in stock.

Watch Out for Old AirPods

These are not the AirPods 2.

The biggest thing you need to watch out for as you shop for AirPods 2 is that many stores still sell the original AirPods for the same price as AirPods 2.

This is confusing since Apple simply calls AirPods 2, “AirPods” and if you look at some third-party websites. It will still be very easy for the next few weeks to walk into a store and buy the old AirPods for the same price as the newer AirPods 2. Make sure you are buying the new model with better battery life, H1, “Hey Siri” and other new features.

If you use Siri all the time, you should buy AirPods so that you can stop tapping your ear like it's 2001. With the current AirPods you get the H1 chip that enables "Hey Siri" control.  When the AirPods are in your ear, all you need to do is say, " Hey Siri" and you will be able to control the volume, make a call, send a text message and any other Siri feature that you use.  This is even more of a benefit if you use Siri Shortcuts. With these, you will be able to control many more things and you can even control Spotify with Siri.  The "Hey Siri" feature is a major convenience upgrade for Siri users, and it's one of the biggest reasons to buy the new AirPods, even if you own the first generation.  If you buy the older model, you need to tap on the AirPod to start Siri control. This isn't a great way to use Siri. Even with "Hey Siri" on your iPhone and Apple Watch, using the AirPod to get Siri without taking your phone out of your pocket or raising your wrist is a great upgrade.
