Earlier this year, EA DICE confirmed Battlefield 1 as its next entry into the long-running Battlefield series of games. The game follows in the footsteps of Battlefield Hardline, the title released last year for Xbox, PlayStation and Windows PC.

Instead of cops and robbers, Battlefield 1 takes gamers to the battlegrounds of World War 1 complete with tanks, artillery, and horses.

The highly anticipated Battlefield 1 release date is set for several dates in October. There will be an opportunity to play it before that though thanks to the upcoming Battlefield 1 beta for console and Windows PC.

EA DICE’s closed Battlefield 1 alpha is over and now the company shifts its attention to the Battlefield 1 beta it confirmed back in May.

The Battlefield 1 beta is confirmed for PS4, Xbox One and PC but there are some of the key details remain in the shadows. With that in mind, we want to help set your expectations before the beta’s start date on console and Windows.

These are our Battlefield 1 beta expectations. This is how we see the release playing out for all three platforms later this year. Let’s start with the Battlefield 1 beta release.

Expect New Battlefield 1 Beta Details Soon

EA DICE continues to tease the Battlefield 1 beta release without providing any specifics about the release date for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It's difficult to predict when an official announcement will come though we could see something emerge later this month.

The Battlefield 1 beta could tie-in with Gamescom which is set to kick off on August 17th and stretch through August 21st.

A report from PlayStation Lifestyle from May suggests that EA DICE is targeting the event. Either for a gameplay reveal or a beta. We now know the company will have a presence, and a trailer, at Gamescom so a beta announcement wouldn't be too far-fetched.

The timing isn't official but it makes sense. With the Battlefield 1 release date in stone for mid-October, EA DICE will want to get its beta live with time to spare. An announcement in and around Gamescom with a release coming shortly thereafter seems logical.

Whatever the case, EA DICE and its employees continue to tell interested gamers they'll have concrete details soon so we'd expect to hear more about the Battlefield 1 beta in August or early September.

In the meantime, please do yourself a favor and avoid those Battlefield 1 beta scams
