Another solid choice is the ZTE Axon 7. This phone takes the idea of OnePlus 3 or some of those cheaper brands and takes it up a notch. The company is known for cheaper phones on regional carriers, but in 2016 ZTE really delivered some high-end smartphones that are better than anything from LG or HTC.

The ZTE Axon 7 is one of the first Google Daydream VR ready devices on the market. Meaning it's fast and powerful enough to push a virtual reality experience. Even the Galaxy S7 can't say that.

It features a beautiful all metal design, huge and loud dual front facing speakers with Dolby technology, a fingerprint scanner on back, and some of the best all-around specs you'll ever find for $399.

Like a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a microSD slot. You'll also get a 20 megapixel rear and 8MP front camera, a large 3,250 mAh battery with Quick Charging, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and a few other goodies. It's as jam-packed as you can get. It might have a custom skin over Android that isn't the best, but this is some serious bang for your buck. Just use Google Now or the Pixel Launcher, change some settings, and you're set.

Buy it Now for $399

Don't forget devices like the Nexus 5X, which already runs Android 7.1 Nougat, or many other high-end phones from 2015 that are now at a heavy discount. That may be a better route than a Moto G4 for some. Personally. I'd get a OnePlus 3T or the Axon 7 and call it a day.
