Fingerprint Gestures, Google Lens & More
Last but not least, we want to highlight a few fun or interesting features on the Pixel 3 that you might not know about. For the sake of time, we kept this list to 10, but there are dozens of awesome things you can do with the Pixel 3 XL.
One of my favorites is fingerprint scanner gesture controls. You're already holding the phone a certain way, so you might as well swipe down on the fingerprint scanner to open the notification bar. Or, swipe up to access the application tray. Simply turn these on in settings. Just head to settings > gestures > and mess with the options available.
Plus, Google lens allows you to do more with the Pixel 3 camera and this year it's built-in. You don't have to physically open the Google Lens app. Launch the camera and aim it at a business card to save EVERYTHING on it, translate words from another language to your native tongue, and more.
In fact, Google Lens can scan barcodes, recognize landmarks, find products, look up an address, save a WiFi password and more instantly. The Lens app scans things in the real world with your camera, then intelligently uses that information or Google search to make life easier.
