Galaxy S5 Android 5.1.1 Release Details
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 5.1.1 update beat out the Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.1.1 update though it has stalled out since T-Mobile rolled it out earlier this year. That said, we know that at least one other carrier is planning to push out a Galaxy S5 Android 5.1.1 update.
French carrier SFR has confirmed an Android 5.1.1 update for its Galaxy S5 though it's not clear when the update will roll out. The carrier hasn't attached a specific time frame to the update and it could be months before we see it. And that's assuming everything goes right in testing.
This is important to French Galaxy S5 users but it's also important to every Galaxy S5 user waiting for Android 5.1.1 because this is the only update that we've seen confirmed ahead of release. It's a sign that there are more updates to come because T-Mobile and SFR won't be the only carriers to roll this update out.
Who else will get it? We can't be sure but we're definitely going to be on the look out for the software in July and August as Samsung pushes forward. If you own a Galaxy S5, you should be vigilant as well.
