Make Room for the Update

The Android Pie update requires a nice chunk of space. If you're running out of room, make sure you free up some space before your update arrives.

Galaxy J users should see a 1.5GB+ download. If you're running out of space (or even if you're not) use this time to cleanup your device's storage. It'll help you get the upgrade up and running much faster.

If you've owned your phone for awhile, you've probably accumulated a bunch of data you no longer need. Dig into your storage and delete outdated photos, game saves, videos, music, and whatever else you don't need.

If you don't know where to start, you can use the device's Device maintenance feature in your Settings to help narrow down the list of items to get rid of.
