This is one of our favorite Android Pie features and one of the best reasons to upgrade your Galaxy S8 today. 

The Galaxy S8's Android Pie update features a useful "Lift to wake" feature that allows you to check your lock screen for notifications by raising the phone to your face. 

With the Lift to wake feature toggled on, your Galaxy S8 will start scanning your eyes or face when you lift the device up.

If you use iris scanning to unlock your device you'll really like this feature because you no longer have to press the power button to turn the screen on.

Once you get the Android Pie on board you'll find it in the Advanced features > Motions and gestures menu in the Settings app.
