Install Android Pie for Bixby Key Remapping
The Galaxy S9 is already getting a useful feature that debuted alongside the new Galaxy S10.
In the past, Samsung tried to prevent Galaxy users from remapping the Bixby key. That's changed.
Samsung is rolling out an update that allows Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users to remap the Bixby key. In order to use this feature a few things need to happen. First, you need to be running Android Pie on your Galaxy S9.
Once you're running Android Pie, you'll need to download the latest update to the Bixby application from the Galaxy Store. After you've done that, head into your Settings.
In Settings, go into Advanced features > Bixby key and you'll find that you can now set a third-party app to launch with a single or double press of the Bixby key. You can only select one.
Galaxy S9 users have been pleading for this change and Samsung's finally delivered. If this sounds like music to your ears, download Android Pie and the Bixby update today.
