Install iOS 15.6.1 for Face ID Improvements

If you skipped iOS 15.6, iOS 15.5, iOS 15.4.1 and iOS 15.4, you'll get iOS 15.4's changes in iOS 15.6.1. If that's the case, you may want to install iOS 15.6.1 for improvements to Face ID.

With iOS 15.6.1/iOS 15.6/iOS 15.5/iOS 15.4.1/iOS 15.4 on board your phone, you now get an option to unlock your iPhone while wearing a mask. Of course, Apple says the full version of Face ID (without a mask) is more secure, but this is now an option if you wish to use it.

The new feature uses the areas around your eyes to authenticate. And while it works with eyeglasses, it won't work with sunglasses on.

Apple also notes that Apple Pay and password autofill in your applications and Safari can be used with Face ID while wearing a mask.

Unfortunately, these features are limited to the iPhone 12 series and iPhone 13 series.

Thx for this! I think I’ll stay with 14.8 for the foreseeable, eh. More and more storage on my poor old 6s is being used by all these ‘great’ upgrades. You’d think they want me to buy a new phone. Lol❤️❤️

After installing the 15.1.1, mu iPhone 12 has slowed down considerably and sometimes freezes or won’t open different apps at all! I really wish I hadn’t updated it!

After downloading iOS 15.1 on my iPad Pro the SD card camera adapter isn’t recognised! I work as part time photographer, and always download to iPad. How do I get this to work again please, I use it every day. It was fine on earlier versions. I don’t use a laptop. Depend on my trusty iPad Pro.
    Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately I got sucked in into upgrading my iPhone 8 to the iOS 15.3 Version and imo it’s the absolute WORST update that iOS has put out there.
Waaay too many BUGS and Glitches, especially with the Keyboard and it’s Cursor when trying to place the Cursor. But there’s also a Ton of other Bugs.
It just sucks that Apple Won’t allow us to Go Back to whatever Previous Version that we want.
Totally feels like Apple is Pushing people into Buying New Phones with All these Buggy Updates hurting our phones!!
If it wasn’t the case, then I see absolutely No Reason that Apple Can’t create an Update that has NO BUGS, especially with all the Technology out there.
Seems like almost every Update has Bugs and I feel that there’s No Reason for it.
Can’t Apple just hire people who KNOW what they’re doing in order to Create an Update WITHOUT BUGS!?
I’m almost ready to make a Switch and say Adios Apple!
