Install iOS 15.1 for New FaceTime Features

If you're still running iOS 14, you'll get iOS 15's changes with your upgrade. We'll outline some of the more notable ones.

Apple made a number of changes to FaceTime. If you're a heavy FaceTime user, you might want to install iOS 15 today.

One of the more notable changes is a feature called SharePlay which lets you keep your FaceTime conversations going while you watch content, listen to your music, or share your screen. SharePlay arrived on board iOS 15.1.

You can watch movies, television, or listen to music with your family and friends on the call. You can also share your screen which is an excellent way to share recent photos of a trip or look at something funny or interesting on the internet.

Apple's also brought Spatial Audio to FaceTime. What this means is that individual voices on your call will sound like they’re coming from the direction in which each person is positioned on the screen.

Other changes include a new Grid view, a Portrait mode so that your face is more in focus, FaceTime links which allows you to schedule FaceTime calls using a link. You can even share a link to a FaceTime call with someone that uses Windows or Android.

Thx for this! I think I’ll stay with 14.8 for the foreseeable, eh. More and more storage on my poor old 6s is being used by all these ‘great’ upgrades. You’d think they want me to buy a new phone. Lol❤️❤️
