Install for the Compact UI

Apple's made some nifty changes to the UI (user interface) in iPadOS 14.

For starters, the company's made a nice change to the way phone calls, FaceTime calls, and calls from third-party apps popup on the iPad.

The company calls the feature Compact Calls and it shrinks the call popup to a more manageable size. Instead of taking up the entire screen, they're now shrunken down so you aren't taken out of what you're doing.

In addition, Siri now appears at the bottom of the iPad's screen when activated. It will also get out of your way when you launch apps or control music on your tablet.

Apple's also applied the compact UI design to Universal Search and sidebars for apps like Photos, Files, Notes, Calendar, and Apple Music. You can get a feel for those changes in Apple's guide to iPadOS 14
