Wait for Potential Camera Upgrades

One report claims we'll see a new camera setup on the iPad Air 5.

According to Japanese site Mac Otakara, the iPad Air 5's rear camera will be a "dual-lens camera system with a wide-angle camera and an ultra-wide angle camera."

The site also claims the iPad Air 5 could have a LiDAR scanner, but their sources aren't sure if that change will stick.

A newer report from the same source says the iPad Air 5 will have a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage support.

These are the first iPad Air 5 camera rumors we've seen so take them with a grain of salt given. That being said, the iPad Air is now the only tablet in Apple's lineup that doesn't have a 12-megapixel ultra-wide front camera with the company's Center Stage feature so it's reasonable to assume we'll see Apple make a change.

If you like to shoot photos and/or video on your iPad, and you're at all interested in a new iPad Air, you may want to hang back and wait.
