If you really don't want to spend a lot of cash and don't mind having a small screen, maybe you're thinking about buying the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 originally launched all the way back in 2012 with what at the time was one of the best smartphone designs out.

It's a classic device, one I kept for a long time, but most people should avoid it in 2020 and beyond.

Yes, it's cheaper than the iPhone SE, but you're better off spending the extra money on the newer model.

We've already touched on the hardware differences between the iPhone SE and iPhone 5s and the differences between the iPhone SE and iPhone 5 are even more drastic due to the iPhone 5 being a year older than the iPhone 5s.

The iPhone 5 didn't get iOS 12, won't get iOS 13, and won't get any software support from Apple down the road. It's dead in the water.

If you're desperate, you're better off going with the iPhone 5s.
