$99.99 from Amazon

Amazon offers a $99 Kids Edition of the Fire 7 that comes with all the new features, but you get a lot of extra items with this including a case and a two year warranty with free accidental replacement coverage.

With the 2019 model you get the faster processor, more storage, SD card support and hands free Alexa just like the base version, but you also get;

  • 1 Year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited
  • Kid-Proof Case with Stand
  • 2 Year Worry Free Guarantee

FreeTime Unlimited offers up games, movies, educational apps and TV shows with no ads or in app purchases. The two year coverage means if the tablet breaks for any reason -- a drop, a plunge into the pool or whatever -- just send it back and Amazon will replace it.

This is $109 in value if purchased separately. You can also buy this on 5 monthly payments of $20 if you need to spread out the cost.

    I would disagree with this. We bought our two kids (3 and 5) two 7″ kindle tablets on prime day for $30 each. They have both used them for over a year, without a problem. Part of that is because we bought two shock- and drop- proof cases for $10 each on eBay. We added 16gb SD cards at $8 each, and suddenly we have almost as good a deal as the Kid Tablet, but for less than $50. If they break one (not sure how that would be possible, as these cases are pretty sturdy), we’ll just pick up another tablet when they go on sale (seems to happen 3 times a year).
