Don't Wait for 5G
Apple is reportedly bringing 5G connectivity to the iPhone next year, but we'd be surprised if the service debuted on the iPhone SE 2.
We haven't seen any iPhone SE 2 rumors hint at the feature. And given that the device is likely going to run an older chipset, the chances of 5G making its debut on an iPhone in March are slim to none.
A research note from Cowen seen by AppleInsider suggests "Intel could remain in the supply chain as a supplier of 4G modems for the potential low-cost iPhone SE2 model in the first half of 2020."
Instead, 5G will most likely debut on the 2020 iPhone models, also known as the iPhone 12 series, next September.
During our testing, we've Verizon's 5G network hit speeds approaching 2GB/s and reliably hit 1-1.5GB/s download speeds.
