Don't Wait for Face ID
If you want Apple's advanced biometrics on your next iPhone, you'll probably have to buy the iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone Pro Max, or wait for the 2020 iPhone.
iPhone SE 2 rumors suggest the phone won't have Face ID, the feature that allows you to unlock your device using your likeness. The feature appears on newer iPhones, but isn't available on older models like the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
Instead, the iPhone SE 2 will most likely come with the Touch ID fingerprint technology that many of you are probably familiar with. Another report from Bloomberg backs Touch ID instead of Face ID. And leaked iOS 14 code confirms the presence of Touch ID.
Nothing is set in stone, but if the lack of Face ID is a dealbreaker for you, it's time to start looking at a newer iPhone model.
