Wait for the New Cameras

When you buy a budget smartphone there are two areas that typically get hit the most. Two areas they cut back on to keep the price down, and that's the display and camera. Or even camera(s) if you're lucky.

So, if you're planning on buying a nice budget smartphone for around $200 or even $300 in 2018, wait for the Moto G6.

That's because the Moto G6 comes with two cameras on the back, and it's still only $249. Two cameras like the $1000 Galaxy S9 or iPhone X.

The Moto G6 packs a 12 MP f/1.8 aperture rear camera, along with a 5MP secondary RGB depth camera. This helps with RGB colors, and depth sensing for improved photography and those popular portrait-style shots too. Not to mention you'll get an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies or Snapchat videos.

Keep in mind that the more affordable Moto G6 Play doesn't have the same dual cameras, but it's still packing improvements and technology from 2018 that will help in the camera department.

And while these budget phones and dual cameras can't compete with the Galaxy S9 or iPhone X, you'll get something better than the 2017 competition.
