Apple debuted a brand new Apple Pencil alongside the 2018 iPad Pros, but it only works with the newer models. 

The second-generation Apple Pencil comes with an assortment of upgrades that make the pencil (it's sold separately), and newer iPads, worth a serious look. 

The latest version of the Apple Pencil charges without having to plug it into the Lightning port. You can now put the pencil on the side of the iPad Pro where it will pair and start charging automatically. The new models use magnets to keep the stylus in place.

The second-gen Apple Pencil also comes with a new type of control. Specifically, you can now double tap on the Apple Pencil to switch between tools (last used, color pallet, eraser, current tool). It's a nifty upgrade and developers can add in support for third-party apps. 

On top of that, Adobe's Photoshop CC app features Apple Pencil integration which is perfect for anyone that wants to edit photos and other items on-the-go.
