How to Get the March Nexus 5X Android 7.1.1 Update Right Now

Google's new Nexus 5X Android 7.1.1 build is rolling out Over-The-Air but the OTA could take several weeks to wrap up. If you'd prefer to skip the long OTA process and get the new March build on board your device right now, you can do that.

Per usual, Google's released factory images for its latest version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The Nexus 5X's March update is now available via the company's website. If you know how to sideload software on your device you can download the file and install the update today.

If you aren't familiar with the process, we've put together a sideload guide that will take you through the necessary steps. Once you get the hang of it you should be able to sideload future Android updates on your device.

If you don't feel comfortable with the steps in the walkthrough, you'll want to wait for Google's OTA to arrive on your device.

You won't have to wait long. Google's OTAs typically take 1-2 weeks to complete.
