9 Things You Might Not Know About the iPhone X

The iPhone X, called the iPhone 10, is the hottest of the three new iPhones, but there is a lot of information you might not know about this expensive new iPhone.

Announced in September, the iPhone X went on sale in late October and arrives in stores on Friday November 3rd. It’s hard to find in stock with many models pushed out to delivery in late December.

If you are just starting to look at the iPhone X, there are some things you might not know about Apple’s largest screen iPhone. We’re here to help you understand more about this new phone so you can decide if it’s for you.

By the price alone you know that the iPhone X is Apple’s top of the line smartphone for 2017 and most of 2018. It’s sold alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, but this is the one that is all new and that you probably want to go with.

Here are things you might not know about the iPhone X until you buy one or go hands on with one at a local store. If you are a super user, you probably already know these, but for most of you, this is an introduction to the iPhone X.

There is No iPhone X Home Button

This may seem obvious, but we've talked to a lot of people who were shocked to find out that the iPhone X has no home button.

A lot of users thought it was tucked into the screen like on Samsung phones, but there is just no home button there. Instead you use Gestures for a lot of iPhone controls. This is a big deal, but something most people can adapt to.

You swipe up from the bottom of screen to go home.

You swipe up halfway on the screen and stop to open the app switcher.

You double press the big side button to use Apple Pay.

You slide along the bottom to switch between apps.

You hold the Side button to launch Siri

That's a short list of how you use the iPhone X with no home button. Since Siri and Apple Pay are on the Side button, which Apple no longer calls the power button, you need to hold the side button and volume up to turn the iPhone X off.
