Samsung Outlines Potential Android Oreo Release Date
If you’ve been hoping for a surprise Samsung Galaxy Android Oreo release date in 2017 you should start tempering your expectations right now.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo update continues to make progress ahead of its official release in the United States, United Kingdom, South Korea, and other countries around the world. Samsung’s army of beta testers are currently plugging away on the third Galaxy S8 Oreo beta.
According to a Samsung rep, the Galaxy S8’s third Android 8.0 Oreo beta won’t be the last test release as the company is reportedly looking to release a fourth, and perhaps final, Galaxy S8 Oreo beta ahead of the new year.

Samsung-centric blog SamMobile recently tracked down a comment from a company rep on the Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta forums.
Samsung’s UK beta team claims a fourth Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta will be rolled out “very, very soon” and that a notice about the beta will come in the near future.
The team hasn’t outlined a specific date, but it could arrive as soon as tomorrow. A Samsung rep made a similar comment about the third Galaxy S8 Android Oreo beta and it arrived the very next day.
The rep also mentions a potential Android Oreo release date and it lines up with the timing Samsung Turkey released earlier this year.

If everything holds up, it looks like the Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update’s release date will land in late January or early February if there are more issues. Samsung Turkey claimed the first wave of Galaxy Android 8.0 Oreo updates would arrive sometime in early 2018.
This appears to rule out a Galaxy S8 Android Oreo release date in 2017 and it means Galaxy S8 users might have to wait until after the holidays to get their hands on an official version of Android 8.0.
The information comes just a few days after Samsung inadvertently confirmed an additional Galaxy Android Oreo update.
The company still hasn’t produced an official list of devices getting the upgrade, but the Galaxy Note 8 Android 8.0 Oreo update is now confirmed thanks to a firmware leak in the United States.
The leak isn’t the final version of the Galaxy Note 8’s Android Oreo update, but its presence means the company’s likely making progress in testing behind the scenes.

Samsung’s rumored to be planning a wide number of Android Oreo updates including upgrades for the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and Galaxy Note 7 FE.
An unofficial list of Galaxy Oreo updates suggests the company will also push Android 8.0 out to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy Note 5.
With Samsung’s beta team starting to chirp, it should only be a matter of time before Samsung outlines its Android 8.0 Oreo plans in great detail.
