Published

The iPhone 8 release date is in two days and you can no longer order the iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus for in store pickup at an Apple Store.

Up until yesterday, you could still buy most iPhone 8 models online at the Apple Store for in store pickup on Friday September 22nd.

There is a chance that you can still go to an Apple Store and lineup for an iPhone 8 on Friday, it’s not the best way to spend your time.

The iPhone 8 in store pickup options are closed for the iPhone 8 release day.

The iPhone 8 in store pickup options are closed for the iPhone 8 release day.

You can still order most of the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 models for home delivery by September 27th through October 3rd. This is likely due to increased interest in the iPhone X that goes on sale at the end of October and ships on November 3rd.

If you want a great iPhone 8 deal, you should skip the Apple Store. That’s just one of the reasons not to buy the iPhone 8 at an Apple Store.

Shoppers who are still looking to buy an iPhone 8 this Friday should check with carriers for bigger deals and better trade in options. You can often score $300 or so for your old phone directly from the carrier and you can sell your old iPhone for more.

Apple Stores and carriers open early on Friday September 22nd at 8 AM, and you can expect to see some lines, but not nearly as many as we expect for the iPhone X.
