The Best VPN for Android in 2020

OpenVPN Connect (free)

OpenVPN Connect (free)

Another completely free option is OpenVPN. And while we mentioned a free VPN earlier, this one is completely open source. That way you know there's nothing shady going on behind the scenes.

The only problem with OpenVPN is the learning curve. Because it's open source you can configure and customize the entire program to work exactly how you need or want it to. At the same time, that's pretty difficult unless you know exactly what you're doing. If you're looking for a VPN that just works, this isn't it.

If you know how to import some ovpn profiles and tweak things, you'll love this free alternative.
