Best Car Buying Apps for 2019

Edmunds Car Buying App

Edmunds Car Buying App

When it comes to negotiating the best price for a new or used car, the Edmunds app is one of the best tools for the job.

With the year, make, model and trim level the Edmunds app shows all the pricing info users need to make sure they get a great deal. When possible this uses real prices paid for similar vehicles in your location.

For new cars, the app shows the Dealer Invoice and MSRP of the vehicle. The real number to pay attention to is the True Market Value, a value that reflects a fair price to pay for a new car. Users can add options to see what their dream car would cost and what a fair price is.

For used cars, the app offers Dealer retail pricing and Private party sale values as well as an estimated trade-in value. Users can adjust the condition and mileage of the car to see accurate pricing.

The app also offers fast access to all incentives and rebates for new cars, inventory search, reviews, photos and videos as well as the cost of ownership and safety ratings.

Edmunds iPhone app is free in the App Store and on Google Play.

I’m fond of app building, my favourite online service is Snappii as it allows creating iOs and Android apps without programming skills. Besides they are constantly adding new powerful features to their apps that makes them really hot. Their Snappii 2.0 release is amazing.

Great list Josh! I’d suggest adding Autolist mobile app (https://www.autolist.com), they currently have the highest rated used car app for both Android and iOS. Plus, their meta search approach allows for the largeset available database of listings online. Definitely a worthwhile add! Thanks again for your work

If you’re looking to buy a used car there are a lot of marketplaces to consider but only few are fully featured and designed for people to buy and sell cars. The main ones people usually consider are (in no particular order):

    Facebook Marketplace
    LetGo & Offerup

From these CarsXE is the only one that offers: full vehicle spec information (from the VIN number), in app purchasing, recall and warranty information and access to the vehicle’s history. Then there are feature that are in available in almost all of them such as messaging (except Craigslist).
