New Dell XPS 13

New Dell XPS 13
$999.99 from Dell

Decide which activities the matter most to you with the new Dell XPS 13.

The amount of options new XPS 13 buyers have is stunning. If you prize battery life over display quality, you can buy a model with a 13.3-inch 1080p display. This model lasts 19.5 hours on a charge. Media lovers and creators will want the Dell XPS 13 with the 13.3-inch 4K display. This screen is brighter and more detailed. Expect less battery with this display. Both screens barely have any border on three sides, making videos appear as if they are floating in a dark room. Two stereo speakers on the bottom of the laptop provide quality sound to complement these great displays.

The new XPS 13’s chassis and lid are aluminum and the laptop's deck is made of carbon fiber. There are rose gold and silver models to choose from. If you go with the rose gold, know that Dell has tested the keyboard deck and trackpad to make sure it won’t stain or yellow over time like other white laptops.

Despite only weighing 2.67 pounds, the new XPS 13 has great internals. You can buy an entry-level new Dell XPS 13 with a standard display, Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for $999.99. You get 256GB of storage, 8GB of RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor with the $1,399.99 configuration. Dell’s most expensive model, on sale now for $1,899.99, has the high-detail 4K touch display.

You get all the ports and extras you need with this laptop. The new XPS 13 has a MicroSD card slot, a USB 3.1 port, a headset jack and 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports. Thunderbolt 3 ports can connect to monitors and transfer information to a hard drive quickly. Two stereo speakers provide all the sound you need. The XPS 13’s front-facing Windows Hello camera can sign you in automatically, but expect it to capture more of your hands than your face in selfies. Thanks to a battery meter, you always know how much power you have left before you leave for class.
