Last but not least, we wanted to round up a few other potential options for those who were considering the Pixel 2 XL, but now are looking elsewhere. 

The original Pixel XL from 2016 is still a great phone. It has an excellent 5.5-inch Quad-HD display, a great camera, runs Android 8.0 Oreo, and comes in 64 or 128GB of storage. You won't get water-resistance or some of the latest camera features, but it's close. You can even find it at heavy discounts, and enjoy all that it has to offer. 

Another option is the rumored upcoming OnePlus 5T. OnePlus makes excellent phones at a budget price, and we're hearing the new OnePlus 5T could come with a bezel-free display. If leaks are accurate expect a powerful phone with a 6-inch Quad-HD screen, small bezels, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, plenty of storage and lots of power. Basically matching the Pixel 2 XL in almost every category for under $500. We're expecting an announcement sometime in mid-November. 

As for the smaller Pixel 2, consider the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact. It's a great phone in a small package. 

At the end of the day, buyers have lots of options. The Pixel XL 2 had a lot of users excited but with Android Oreo updates coming soon most phones will be on par, or just as good soon enough. Choose one from our roundup, or wait for Google to fix the display issues plaguing the Pixel 2 XL before you buy one.
