In terms of a straight-up alternative, the new LG V30 is the closest thing to the Pixel 2 XL. You'll get the same 6-inch OLED display, similar small bezels, and a great camera experience. That said, the LG V30 potentially suffers from the same display problems as the Pixel 2 XL. Making it a no-go for some. 

As a result, we recommend checking out the LG G6 from earlier this year. It came out around the same time as the Galaxy S8 and has plenty to offer.

The LG G6 delivers a beautiful premium metal and glass design, wireless charging, water-resistance, dual cameras, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a nice screen. Compared to the Pixel 2 XL, the LG G6 is only 5.8-inches, but you'll still enjoy a full Quad-HD resolution. Both rear cameras are 16 megapixels, with one taking wide-angle photos. The Pixel 2 XL camera is probably better, but you'll be more than happy with the G6. 

One potential downside is the LG G6 uses last years Snapdragon 821 processor, but still has 4GB of RAM, plenty of storage (and expandable storage) and a big 3,300 mAh battery. Check out these LG G6 deals and discounts.
