While Lutron is my go to resource for smart lights that cover a full room, Philips Hue is still one of the best lighting systems out there if you want to add colors or if you want individual light control. 

I'm using Philips Hue Lights in my basement where I have a media room setup for gaming and watching movies. I need individual light control so that the light in front of the TV and over the couch are not on, or not at full brightness while gaming or watching a movie. I combine this with the LightStrip Plus behind the TV to get a fully customizable, ready to entertain setup that I can't get with other systems. 

I'v e combined this with a Hue Dimmer Switch to allow for easy control of preset lighting conditions without a phone or voice.  If you use Razer products, Hue will work with Razer Chroma in the near future. 

The Philips Hue systems start at $99 for white and $199 for color. Additional bulbs and Lightstrips are available from $29.99 and up.
