The Sony Xperia Z1s offers an incredible camera in a waterproof smartphone package with a design that looks good and lets you take photos underwater as well as anywhere else that you find yourself.

The Xperia Z1s waterproof where most of the other devices on this list are just resistant. You can take the Xperia Z1s four and a half feet underwater for 30 minutes. Granted that's only 1.5 feet more than most other phones, but it means you can worry less about using it as an underwater camera.

In addition to a 20.7MP camera and a camera app that lets users download more features right to the stock camera this phone offers a 5-inch 1080P HD display with Sony tech inside to deliver a better looking picture.

T-Mobile is the only carrier in the U.S. to offer a Xperia Z1s, and it is available for $0 down or $552 off contract.

Water proof phones are cool and all but when you know your about to be around water a zip lock bag will do a better job. Personally I’m getting the lg g3! That’s about as future proof as you can get in cell phones right now.

I would like to share my experience of a waterproof smartphone…Samsung XCover2…for two times in water and for two times broken…the problem is the usb connection that can not guarantee the impermeabilty due to the fact that you have to open it often to charge the smartphone…and now I understand why many IP67 gps whatches use a different system to recharge. I would like to find a real waterproof smartphone…can anyone help me?

Most of the Sony phones have the option of a magnetic charging cable on the side which doesn’t reduce the water resistance. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a ~$30 official accessory which enables wireless charging so you wouldn’t have to open up a port.

I used a lifeproof case for my iPhone 5c; it got rain on it, now the touch screen doesn’t work. Useless.
