EA Sports announced several key details about the FIFA 16 release in the run up to E3 2015, but we expect to see more important information arrive at the gaming conference thanks to a countdown timer on the FIFA 16 webpage.
With an annual release cycle there are not as many questions about the FIFA 16 release as we see for the return of Black Ops or for Fallout, but there are still key details that EA Sports needs to announce at the event.
EA confirms a major FIFA 16 announcement at E3 2015 on the FIFA video game website where there is a countdown to June 15th, the first real day of E3 2015.
The FIFA 16 release date is September 25 on Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as on PC. The game is available for pre-order and we already know about one FIFA 16 deal that includes up to $22 off.
For gamers who are eager to learn about the rest of the FIFA 16 game, here’s what we expect to see at E3 2015.
FIFA 16 Gameplay
We know that EA Sports will show off new FIFA 16 gameplay details at E3 2015. That is abundantly clear in the countdown teaser on the website and based on EA Sports’ traditions at E3 2015.
You can count on a new FIFA 16 gameplay trailer at E3 that shows off many of the new features and in-game footage mixed with some of the visuals that you will see on the in-game replays.
EA is keeping the actual gameplay under wraps for now, but we already know that there are now Women’s International teams in FIFA 16.
New FIFA 16 Features
This is where we will learn about what’s new in FIFA 16. So far the first FIFA 16 trailer did not outline any major additions to gameplay.
We’ve heard rumors of a new FIFA 16 story mode to help bring gamers into the game more and build on the desire to create a character and build them up as a new player that can rise to fame and go to the World Cup.

A new FIFA 16 teaser shows Lionel Messi walking into a stadium to cheers, and the narrator tells us to expect “Beautiful Football.”
Xbox One & PS4 FIFA 16 Exclusive Features
Even though the FIFA 16 release comes to older consoles EA Sports traditionally delivers a handful of features to the new consoles exclusively.
Last year the Xbox One and PS4 version of FIFA delivered better graphics, smarter goalkeepers, emotional intelligence and better commentary on the newest consoles. The upgraded graphics also included a living pitch that reacted to players with wear, animated corner flags and more.
With the FIFA 15 release the team at EA focused on delivering a stellar experience on the newest consoles and letting another team figure out how to make this work on the Xbox 360 and PS3. This allows gamers on Xbox One and PS4 to get the best experience, without dumbing down the gameplay and new features to work on an older console.
FIFA 16 Competition
We just got our first look at the biggest FIFA 16 competitor. Pro Evolution Soccer 16 from Konami is also arriving at E3 2015 for a reveal.
The first PES teaser trailer arrived ahead of the event, showcasing a beautiful demonstration of gameplay and cinematic video.
The PES 2016 release date is set for a week before FIFA 16, so EA needs to impress gamers at E3 and in the coming months.
No FIFA 16 Demo Announcement
One thing we don’t expect is the confirmation of a FIFA 16 demo release. EA rarely announces a FIFA demo at E3. Instead we hear about features and reasons to pre-order.
The FIFA 16 demo announcement will likely happen closer to the FIFA 16 release date in September. The demo last year arrived about two weeks before the full game.
We do expect to learn more about how you can play FIFA 16 early on Xbox One. The EA Access program is still going strong on Xbox and last year this allowed gamers to play FIFA five days early, with access to the full game.
