If you watch the top players in the world take a dead ball and put it into the goal or on to a teammate's head you know that there is room for improvement from set pieces in FIFA 16.
With FIFA 17 you get more control over penalties, corner kicks and free kicks that allow you to put the ball into new places.
With a direct free kick you can now use outside of the foot kicks to bend around opponents and deliver more spin and movement to increase your chances at scoring.
From a corner kick in FIFA 17 you have more control over who you want to target. You can also switch to controlling a player in the box and have a teammate deliver the perfect ball for a header.
When taking penalties you can choose your angle and speed of approach as well as add more personality and control to your shots. There are also new user controlled throw in options that allow you to walk the line, fake a throw or throw in pace with a running teammate.
Don't expect super-easy goals from set pieces, but it should be easier than in FIFA 16 and offer more control than the older game offers.
