Fortnite 3.5 Update: What’s New, What’s Free & Problems
The Fortnite 3.5 update is now live across all systems adding a new Light Machine Gun, a new 50 vs 50 limited time play event and bringing a few Fortnite Battle Royale problems along with the new features and changes.
This is what you need to know about the Fortnite 3.5.2 update that is now live, and the downtime is complete.
Fortnite 50v50 Limited Time Mode
One of the biggest features in the Fortnite 3.5 update is the addition of a 50 vs 50 battle royale that allows you to team up with a giant squad and go for the win. You get double the ammo and you have the help of 49 other players as you dive into this epic showdown. This is live now and you can start playing.
Free Fortnite Gifts
We already showed you how to get your free Back Bling as part of the apology for the Fortnite Battle Royale downtime, and now you can collect another set of gifts that will help you level up.
- Battle Royale – 20 Battle Pass Stars
- Save the World – 1600 Seasonal Gold
This will allow you to unlock a few levels in Battle Royale so you get more gear before Fortnite Season 4 starts.
Fortnite Light Machine Gun
You can now grab an insane new Fortnite gun that packs a 100 round magazine and a crazy rate of fire. The new Fortnite Light Machine Gun in Fortnite Battle Royale, will allow you to pin down the enemy and keep them suppressed without reloading.
Fortnite Battle Royale 2XP Weekend
While you look to level up to tier 100 to finish out your Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass, you can enjoy double XP. Starting now through Sunday April 22nd you will earn 2X experience while playing Battle Royale.
Fortnite V 3.5 Changes
In addition to the new gun and double XP events, here are the changes that are part of the Fortnite V3.5 update that is live now.
- Resiliency improvements to help prevent extended downtime.
- Fix for a high-frequency crash on Xbox One
- Peeking is being reverted back to how it functioned prior to v3.5.
- This should solve the issue causing players to accidentally shoot their own structures while trying to peek. More info here.

New Fortnite Problems with V3.5 Update
We’re investigating an increased rate of server crashes since the release of v3.5.2.
We’ll provide an update once we have more information.

Epic is aware of an increase in server crashes with the FOrnite V3.5 update. It is under investigation and they will announce the results on Twitter when they know more.
