Every year Samsung saves it's biggest, best and fasted device for the Galaxy Note series, and they did that again in 2019. And while the Note 9 is still plenty fast and capable, it is a year old and things change quickly. Here are the specs and features of both.
Galaxy Note 9 Specs
- 6.4-inch Quad-HD Curved Infinity AMOLED Display
- Snapdragon 845 Processor with 6-8GB of RAM
- 128 or 512GB storage options (512GB is available with 8GB RAM model)
- Android 9 Pie with One UI
- Dual 12MP Rear Cameras with variable aperture, IOS, 960 FPS Slow-mo, more
- 8MP Front Selfie Camera with Portrait Mode & Improved AR Emoji
- Stereo Speaker tuned by AKG
- 4,000 mAh battery with fast and wireless charging (faster wireless charging, too)
- IP68 Dust & Water-resistance
- USB Type-C, Bixby 2.0, Bixby AI, 3.5mm headphone jack
- Heart-rate sensor, Face Unlock, Iris Scanning
- S-Pen with Bluetooth, New Features, etc
- and more
That's still a great phone, but this is even better. Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ Specs
- 6.3-inch 2280 x 1080 FHD Curved AMOLED Infinity Display
- 6.8-inch 3040 x 1440 Quad-HD Curved AMOLED Infinity-O Display
- 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Processor in the US and Samsung Exynos in select regions
- 8-12GB of RAM and 256/512GB storage with microSD expansion (Higher RAM and storage options on bigger model)
- Android 9 Pie With Samsung One UI
- 3/4 Rear Cameras: 12, 12, 16MP (Variable aperture main lens (F1.5 and F2.4),
- f/2.4 telephoto lens, and super wide-angle camera) Dual OIS, 960 FPS slo-mo,
- 4K, 10-scene optimizer, Night Sight (same as S10) Extra 4th DepthVision lens on Plus model
- 10MP Front Selfie Camera with Portrait Mode & Improved 3D AR Emoji
- Stereo Speaker tuned by AKG
- 3,500 mAh & massive 4,300 mAh (on bigger Note 10) batteries with new 25w Faster Charging, Wireless Charging 2.0 and Powershare Reverse Wireless Charging
- IP68 Dust & Water-resistance, S-Pen Stylus
- USB Type-C, Bixby 2.0, Bixby AI, new Air Gestures & stylus controls, wireless Dex Live, etc
- Heart-rate sensor, In-Display Fingerprint Sensor
- No 3.5mm headphone jack and no Bixby button
Pretty impressive, right? The biggest things to take away from this device when compared to the Note 9 or the Galaxy S10 are the screen sizes, bigger battery, double the storage starting at 256GB on all models, multiple cameras, and all the S-Pen features. With Samsung moving the cameras to the side and the fingerprint scanner inside the glass, that gives them more room in the actual housing for a bigger battery. As a result, the Note 10 is 3,500 mAh while the bigger Plus model packs a 4,300 mAh battery.
Additionally, the Galaxy Note 10 line both support Samsung's new 25w faster-charging technology. Then, you can pay extra for a new 45w faster-er wired charger for the Galaxy Note 10+. And no, the Note 10 doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack at all, and the smaller model doesn't even have a microSD slot.
